Synopsis:
In the Nordic winter, sunlight is fleeting yet warm; in its absence, the world is submerged in the coldest shades of blue. This work unfolds as a visual poem, tracing the movement of light and color.
The poem is hand-engraved in the dark with logographic characters onto 16mm film. Variations in pressure produce a textured visual rhythm, where each character functions both as language and image. Printed from negative to positive through combinations of colored light, the film’s material process becomes inseparable from the poem itself, light not only reveals the work, but becomes the work
The work is developed as an artist in residency at Filmverkstaden, and partially supported by National Culture and Arts Foundation.
