From Autumn to Winter

From Autumn to Winter (2025) presents a series of recent works by Tsai Yi-Chin created through cameraless photography. 

To observe and capture the changing postures of plants across seasons, Yi-Chin collected leaves and flowers in Finland from autumn into winter, and worked directly on film using techniques such as photogram and phytogram. 

Through fully hand-made exposure and developing processes, the vibrant presence of plants is imprinted onto the material, echoing the artist’s reflections on the impermanence of life.

The exhibition features a selection of still photographic works, moving-image pieces, and original film materials.

The work is developed as an artist in residency at Filmverkstaden.
